Walter Sedovic Architects are commissioned to prepare a plan for the restoration of the Yorktown Heights Depot. Improvements to the Depot inclue:
- Reconstruct historic gable above waiting room entry on west elevation.
- Reconstruct historic shed roof above waiting room entry on east elevation.
- Removal and replacement of all missing or severly charred sections of the bead board walls.
- Salvage, rebuild, and restore all windows and doors.
- Carefully remove flooring and salvage for reuse in areas in the baggage room and waiting room.
- Provide a new slate and wood roof including copper flashing around chimney and copper ridges.
- Repair and replace missing and damaged sections of exterior woodwork, including vertical boards, battens, clapboard, bottom sections of framing members and section of eave brackets.
- Paint exterior of building with historically correct colors.
- Restore historic 'Station Master' stove.
- Remove restroom and water heater enclosure.
- Provide six cast support brackets for three new wall-hung benches to exactly match brackets at one existing bench.
- Remove existing exterior baggage room door at east elevation and construct a new finished opening at north elevation.
